summer closing

It's almost back to school time & I'm ready for it. I might even start my Spanish homework early. How lame is that. The truth is... I'm awful at just hanging out. With a long list of things to accomplish is when I'm happiest. Soon enough it will be here. Classes start Wednesday & my new job starts next Tuesday. My senior year, hooray! My school year goals are to cook dinner for us more since Kris is always stuck with it & he's more busy than I am, exercise more for less stress, and in general try not to sweat the small stuff. Wish me luck.

Today I took a picture of our super fun free summer activity. It consists of me strapping in my rollerblades (which I don't know how to properly stop), Kris riding his longboard (like a pro of course), all the while trying to distract Rio from dragging us both to our death by chasing squirrels, lawn workers, pedestrians, & basically anything that moves.

Statues

I haven't blogged on anything from Italy & I know my mind is forgetting already! The easiest to start with is probably this-what I passed by pretty much every single day on foot headed to our apartment far far away from most things. I miss the beautiful statues but not the endless walk along with scorching heat and shuffling art supplies. Good thing I only photographed the things I want to remember!

clay

Artaxis.org has some great artists & is full of inspiration. I figured as long as I'm sitting on my rump eating applesauce I should find some great ideas before I'm crazy busy & living in the clay studio the rest of the semester. Here's some things I'm digging on:

Andrew Gilliat

Meredith Host

Jeff Campana

layed up

Well, I had my wisdom teeth removed this morning so I'm taking it easy on the couch & occasionally drooling on myself. I figured I'd post more photos from our trip out West. These are from a hike along Slough Creek. It's a 15 mile long hike which kicked my butt but definitely worth it.  It was the most beautiful day in Yellowstone, sunny & cool with a breeze. We fished, picked wild strawberries, and saw a fox on the trail.

Yellowstone pt.1

While I sit here and enjoy my basil lemonade and spelt chocolate chip cookie, I'll reminisce about Yellowstone through photographs. Here goes.

Livingston & Bozeman

Montana has been awesome. I need a whole separate post for our days in Yellowstone so instead here are some photos from current happenings. We've spent a few days between Bozeman & Livingston, eating delicious food, fishing rivers, and exploring antique shops. I miss our tent but having a hotel with a mini fridge is nice after storing all your food in a bear locker 24/7. I love exploring new towns, eating at new places, and generally just bummin' around. Livingston was the the filming place for A River Runs Through It along with Legends of the Fall author's, Jim Harison's hometown. There are tons of crazy mansions here in the Paradise Valley, for good reason - it's beautiful! Tomorrow we're headed to Chico Hot Springs for a night and I can't wait to float all day in their naturally tapped hot spring pool...I may never leave.

Lake Superior Baby Bump

Everleigh Harper Atkins will be here soon!

Here are a few photos I took of my purty sister on the shore of Superior. The quality doesn't translate as well on here but I still love them. That belly! I couldn't stop touching it, especially the spot where her infant butt was pushing out. August 31st! Let the countdown begin.

Soon to come...Yellowstone adventures.
